As the next generation of livestock management software continues to evolve, and the industry increasingly adopts data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence, Modiran 10 is attracting interest from academic and scientific institutions across Iran.
In an official letter addressed to the CEO of Modiran Tahlilgar Sepahan, the Educational and Research Farm of the University of Zanjan requested access to the web-based version of Modiran software for the university’s cattle and sheep farming units, referring to the recent developments and upgrades made to the platform.
This request comes as the development of Modiran 10 expands beyond conventional herd management software, positioning the platform as part of the infrastructure for smart, data-driven livestock farming.
Under Modiran’s new approach, smart livestock farming is built on the integration of standardized data, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and integrated management systems. This approach aims to reduce costs, improve productivity, enhance traceability, and support decision-making based on real operational data and measurable indicators.
Universities: Connecting Research with the Livestock Industry
Universities can play an important role in strengthening the connection between education, research, and the practical application of technology in livestock operations. Using real livestock management systems on educational farms not only familiarizes students with emerging technologies but also creates opportunities for research based on actual farm data.
Modiran’s collaboration with universities also has a longer history. The company’s website, in its “University Collaborations” section, lists several institutions that have previously worked with Modiran, including the University of Tehran, Isfahan University of Technology, Shiraz University, Shahrekord University, University of Kurdistan, University of Zabol, and the University of Zanjan, among others.
The University of Zanjan has also collaborated with Modiran in the past. According to previously published documents, the university’s Faculty of Agriculture had expressed its readiness to implement Modiran’s dairy farm management software at its educational and research farm and organize training workshops for students.
Modiran 10: From Herd Management to a Smart Livestock Farming Ecosystem
According to the published smart livestock farming roadmap, Modiran has outlined a development strategy that begins with building data infrastructure and databases and extends to connecting IoT devices and applying artificial intelligence.
This structure brings together several operational areas within a unified, data-driven ecosystem, including herd management, nutrition, production costs, animal health, environmental conditions, genetics, milk production records, and performance analysis.
The participation of universities in this ecosystem could be an important step toward bringing academic knowledge, technology, and the real-world challenges of Iran’s livestock industry closer together.
